Israel served as the nation chosen to bring forth the Messiah, and "because of that choice, the Jewish nation became the exclusive channel through which God chose to reveal Himself to the world... Since the Messiah has come and has fully performed his work of atonement, this special role assigned to the Jews has been fulfilled."
