Enjoying the story so far. The dual narrators (One for Peter, one for Abigail) is working well.
The only thing I haven't liked so far is the reference to Neil Gaiman but it was in passing and I'm sure written before his disgrace

I'm enjoying this one more than almost all the previous entries in the series and I think I've nailed down my main issue with the series as a whole
I simply don't like any of the characters

I'm hoping this one is good. I've known Gav for almost thirty years and his writing has always been pretty solid

Loving the story, not loving Stephen Mangan

Surprisingly good, even the narrator's slightly monotone voice works towards the atmosphere of Malorie's despair

After the brief light that was Magnus we're back to the utter dreck of Perterabo.
That's a 25% hit rate so far for the series, not great, not great at all.

Andy Serkis reading Faramir to sound a little like Sean Bean is *chef's kiss*

Andy Serkis' narration is a joy. I just sat through nine hours without a break and didn't even notice

This will probably be my last update before I finish the book.
I still like the story. It's as good as any of Hobb's stories.
The narration; there's now a much better woman reading Bee's chapters, but the original is still tedium personified

Progress report... it's OK as 'going to sleep' background noise and works as noise when doing something I need to concentrate on.
I wish this narrator was better. I know there's a great story in here

Honestly, it's not getting any better with the narration.

I love Robin's books

I love these characters and the setting

But...

This narrator is just so bad

I'm around an hour into this, and I don't think I've ever been so disappointed with narration so early before.
Maybe I'm spoiled as I've recently had RC Bray and Jefferson Mays narrated books on my list, but this is (as the kids say) mid. It's clear, it's well enunciated, but it's also an emotionless dirge.
Sad to say, if this doesn't get better, I'll DNF my first book since Masque of the Red Death when I was twelve.

Time to finally start this as it's been sitting in my "currently reading" lists since publication... and of course it's an easy start to a new year of reading

I picked this up because of the quality of the cast record of The Sandman from Audible and I'm sorry to say so far it doesn't measure up to that standard
