There’s a lot of poetic language being used in place of descriptive scenes which I’m finding I dislike. However the story is captivating if a bit slow at times

There is an undertone throughout the whole book that paints royalty and the interactions between as a deeply complex thing to be navigated. I really enjoy this aspect of the book, especially when Herbert explains the thinking behind why certain things are said.

I’m finding myself at times becoming a bit annoyed at Herbert’s use of language. I’m starting to realise I dislike overly poetic language, a little bit of flair is nice but when it’s the whole sentence that’s left open to interpretation then that’s just dumb imo. Herbert does this a fair amount and it makes it difficult to follow what’s happening sometimes.
