so anyway i'm really really enjoying this

The prologue was giving Licanius Trilogy, chapter one is giving Lord of the Rings. I don't have a clue what I'm reading except that its very heavy.

I have a dream wherein Celeste has a son and Spieler screams as all his plans are undone, Jacob shrugs and quips that he only has boys and Spieler gets so mad he stomps a hole in the floor like the original Rumpelstiltskin and falls thru into hell :D

Every so often Mr Horwood makes a v valiant effort to make some misdirection that this is not, in fact, just about mole Jesus and really he ought to be commended for trying so hard.

Despite Mr Horwood's protestations i am still willing to bet twenty bucks beechen dies horribly at some point in this book

If I have to read one more interlude I'm gonna scream
Which is funny, bc at this point I'm not even reading them
So really, if I have to skip one more interlude I'm going to scream

This book is vaguely cursed
Does every single joke have to be bathroom humour or a sexual reference
I'm begging you 💀
It feels like Sanderson did the politics and the major plot points and then let a teenage boy write the rest
...and I've known teenage boys with thoughts more sophisticated and humor more funny

Conceptually delightful but I'm sorry...what is going on with the prose? Feels very much like the writing equivalent of cold porridge. Maybe I'm too sensitive bc I haven't read Sanderson in a while. Been reading too much flowy poetic stuff recently maybe??
Points added for some very nice kaladin scenes I'm liking where he's at arc wise rn
