I love sigrud’s character. He’s written from the perspective of a retired govt operative, father in mourning that i could never relate to. Its beautiful

Beautiful and tragic story of soldiers and war and death. The relationships are so complex, between comrades and family and friends.

This book is so tragic. Following mulakesh’s war trauma and how it uniquely equips her to find the city of blades brought out a complex struggle within me about morality, war, and the role of the individual vs. the state they serve.

The sexual discretions that vo admits to the divinity made me laugh out loud at work. I also love sigroot’s character and background. It reminds me of the changing and hardening of migrant men and women, separated from their family and homes and forced to grieve alone

Oh my god this book makes me want to have children more than i already do 😭

The passage between eric and her hoarder mother are absolutely heard-breaking to read.

What a fun book! The mix of fantasy world building and murder mystery is perfect. It’s an easy read but it isn’t condescending. Also the main character is so hot in my mind 😭

How did xaden even get all this power? There is no explanation who any of the venin are. This ending is such a cop out

Okay this book’s pace is starting to annoy me. They go through this whome heroes journey to find endarna’s family, then they do and they are just losing all the time. Also her losing endarna could have hit more if the author knew how to write about love that isnt romantic. It just fell flat for me like the stakes werent high enough

The teenage yearning is a little much for me between violet and dale. But otherwise, i love the descriptions the author gives of fear and anxiety taking place in the body

Very basic, the writing was not as smart as i usually like. The twists were predictable and i was a little annoyed at how stupid the protagonist was lol

The characters are boring, predictable. The narrator is exceedingly naive for a woman who lives in new york and works in the ER.

The scene after paul kills a man for the first time and cries in front of the fremen, they wipe his tears that they reference as a sacrifice to the dead was such a powerful visual. Beautiful writing
