This one shares a lot of things that are ACOTAR-specific; like the overuse of "vulgar gesture" and "prick." They also had to go to make a bargain with this creepy lady locked up in a magical prison only accessed by his bloodline. Hmmm... where else have I seen that? 🤔

The author is obsessed with "parallel parking!" 😭😭😭 It's been mentioned 5 times already! It's not a flex that the big broody MMC (who is centuries old btw) can parallel park. And it's giving Crescent City, if you bashed its face in enough to avoid outright plagiarism.

I have no idea what the "plot" is supposed to be. I don’t know what these characters look like or what their surroundings look/feel/smell like.
I think the author meant for the FMC to be like Aelin (ToG), and I'm seeing some ACOMAF parallels; however, unlike a SJM story, there are no loveable side characters, banter, tension, romance, etc. I wouldn't care if any of the characters die. Am I wasting my time? 😫

I'm already hooked! The writing is so immersive with all the imagery and sensory details that it feels like watching a movie in my head.

Booktok made me read this. So far it's giving "Trials of The Sun Queen" and every other popular book you've read with the games and trials trope.
Usually if I'm a quarter of the way into a book and not hooked, I stress about wasting my time finishing the book.

I have no idea what's going on with the gods and the war they're waging, but I'm HEAVILY invested in the protagonist's story. I'm afraid I might not sleep tonight, since I can't put this book down!!!
