It's weird and strange . YMMV I think it relies on knowledge of UK environs and some kinds of language that don't carry over the Atlantic . Does that make sense ? But I'm thinking I'll like it .

Reading the Introduction it covers the text ' s troubled history . When first published nearly all copies destroyed and not published again til ca. 1908 over fifty years layer . YMMV The circumstance of the print run ' s are obscure , cpvert and ambiguous .

Let's agree the Turtledove story is silly . YMMV Vampires in Antarctica and Jewish vampires .

First story by Neil Gaiman and it's a dark take on Snow White.

Reading the Kindle version . So far they're pretty ordinary ghost stories . And YMMV .

One might suppose this section might be considered the meat of the book, Dinesh in a very wordy manner compares post colonialism ' s core and Obama ' s policies . Dinesh a priori excludes other explanations .

OK and onto Section 3 of the text . This section starts with discussion of parapsychology . A newer discipline in the days of this text .

The authors throw alot onto the wall . They dabble across eternal universe of ice and fire and hollow earth and age and rule of giants .

Finished the Introduction which is biographical and literary. It's very good. Its final part covers how his literary progress goes through his early works and ends in the Prophetic Books (Jerusalem, Milton, and more) .

Chapter seven and Dinesh goes off on a tangent about Occupy movement.

Now the section the text's notorious for, its linking of Nazis with various manners of occultic thought.

Reading the Introduction and its comparison of Blake and Beethoven is intriguing and not mainstream . Kazin puts forth that Blake was a non-mystical mystic .

Continuing my reading. Jumped ahead to read the author biographies.

Chapter on Charles Fort very intriguing, and, I didn't know much about him before reading the chapter. Mostly I accepted the common knowledge that Fort was a crackpot. IMO, the chapter dissuades one of that notion.

Not what I expected. I thpght it would be more metaphysical and less conspiratorial.

I've jumped around a bit, if you're asking. Sections are not easy but are textually dense and challenging.
