This is the biggest book I've ever picked up to read. Usually I stick to 350 - 400 paged books, but since I've had this one sitting idle in my library for like 5 years, I think it's time to crack it open and dive.

I honestly don't expect to retain even 5%, especially since I'm still going over the other books I've already read this year, trying to review and consolidate ideas.

Very short read, so I decided to pick it up. A light munch. A goûté before another big splurge. I just finished Little Boy by John Smith, a caliber of historical fiction I'm just not accustomed to honestly. A lighter novella like this one seems like a suitable pit stop for now.

I just finished part III and I'm about to start part IV.

I have to say part III did feel like it dragged on and on and I was half losing interest and tuning out. I honestly got bored. We're too often inside the characters' minds and feelings, reading through long narrations of their thinking; it's not a bad thing when stuff actually happens too. P3 just felt like a chore

I've started this book a few times over the past years without managing to finish it. I'm dedicated to reach the stern this time.

I'm starting to feel like Tom has a secret involvement in Megan's disappearance, in some way, shape or form.

It could be that Rachel witnessed something during that night which had to do with Tom and Anna, and he doesn't want her to remember. He seems like he's emotionally manipulating Rachel into distancing herself from Scott so she doesn't remember and blow the lid off the can.

I was looking for "My Person" by Téa Mutonji when this book showed up in the search. The title is ridiculously unskippable and curiosity defeated me. I bagged it.

Should be a perfect break after reading Moonwalking with Einstein. Something light and delectable to munch on before reading another mentally demanding book again. I enjoyed Foer's book quite a lot, but nothing beats the gidy fun from cheap thrills.

I'm not so sure where this is going yet, or how it'll turn out. I'm trying to predict where things lead to or what turns up, but it's too early.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to re-read this book again sometime.

Chapter 6, on memorizing poems: really long, haha. Somewhat hectic too, but that's mostly on me for having a fickle brain. It was really dense with historical info.

I'll revisit the chapter again to revise new words and phrases.

I've already tried using the technique yesterday just to see if I'd have any luck using it with my studies. And what do you know, I have three memory palaces already. One for a list of random abstract words, for a French article I'm analyzing, and one for useful french expressions I come across and want to keep in my mind's eye. So far, the technique seems very promising.
