DNF :( my brain hurty everytime i read it

So I was struggling to pick it back up for a bit and for context: I adore the movie and thought reading the book would be awesome. However, i'm unsure of if it's the writing style, the content, or just horror in general: I am struggling. Chapter 11 quickly became anti-wife and it made me lose more interest. I do really want to push myself to read more at least.

Literally cannot stop making theories in my head and I need someone to talk to about this
