I dunno chat I’m kinda not loving it

The bishop is one of the most inspiring christlike figures I have read about in fiction. It’s also surprisingly funny. I love how this reads, it is significantly lesss dense than I expected.

ITS AS GOOD AS EVERYONE SAYS IT IS

It’s growing on me, Katniss’s attitude is still annoying to me a bit but the setup is more interesting than other violent dystopias.

I had forgotten how difficult and annoying this style of protagonist can be. Like yeah they are living in the depths of hell in their world but because this world isn’t real I can’t take it seriously, it almost feels like a parody of real suffering.

HOLY CRAP this book gets crazy. The names are still a challenge sometimes but when traitor guy gets his guts ripped out?? CRAZY

It’s hard to keep track of all the characters but DINOSAUR

The people of 4 Harbors are very judgy, but I love these meandering stories. Plus Anne and Gilbert are married!!

It’s gotten better, but it’s not very original. The games don’t feel very impactful to me, not in a way the Hunger Games did.

I’m thoroughly unimpressed by where the story is going. It feels like it is dark and grim for edginess sake instead of for any interesting reason.

Part 1 is so tropey and boring. The book thinks it’s cooler than it actually is. Only finishing chapter 10 do they say something that sparks my interest. Turn him into a Gold? Boring. Surgically attach wings to him to change his race/class? Now THATS something at least.
