still enjoying this but man it is so long. it took us this much to get to act 2 scene 4. i'm still waiting for poor tom. also i feel a bit bad for morimaros but this is a lear retelling after all so

mostly enjoying it but this is so damn long 😭 paragraphs' worth of physical descriptions for every new location is not needed. it is very well-constructed as a king lear retelling though, i'm particularly loving cordelia's interpretation. this author gets regan and cornwall. i don't like rory in relation to edgar and gaela's character feels like there's something missing, but i'm only about halfway through

getting back into reading for fun and i'm VERY excited to get an ARC i finally want to read!!🫡i haven't read little women in some time but i love retellings & i'm excited to see how this will go

r. is on page 100 of 528 of The Eagle and the Hart: The Tragedy of Richard II and Henry IV
so far this is more of a chronicle of broader English politics of this time and not exactly a biography of either figure. maybe it's the lack of existing information (it's medieval after all) but I was expecting much more about Richard and Henry themselves. but we shall see. also I'm reading this very intermittently between work/other books to wind down so bear with me
