E. Ok, so Rousseau and Fordyce were disgusting chauvinists. Got it.

D. It's interesting to see her debate contemporaries such as Rousseau. She is 100% right that Man in his natural state is often barbaric. This is very obvious and I'm glad she's saying it.

... average woman are taught by society and clearly if women were raised differently, they'd be smart and passionate and virtuous like herself. Nope. Several hundred years later and while there is emancipation, women still like clothes and beauty and "coquettry." Not everyone will take advantage of the opportunities offered to them, and sadly there is still a ton of sexualization inherent in the most liberal society.

Writing my recaps here because a while is going by between my listening to this.

A, as expected, much of what Mary Wollstonecraft says here is pretty much obvious today.

B, her approach is still valid in the Western world. We still share most of her values of independence, virtue, struggle.

C, she has the same problem that many smart women today still have, which is thinking that the traits and interests of the ..

So far, seems anecdotal and counter narrative for the sake of being contrarian.

For a book that's ostensibly about human history, you sure are spending a lot of words trying to prove that science means religion is useless.

Frankly I think this displays a very poor understanding of human nature. Not to mention philosophy.

The fact that you are writing a whole book about ideas means there is a world beyond the material. Stop being philosophically incoherent and insisting that any view past the material biological one is "myth."
