“A lot of people, Black and white, have the impression that
those of us who got involved in the Movement, when it
started in 1960, were fighting for integration. That’s the
way the white press interpreted the sit-ins and freedom rides
and all that. But what they didn’t understand was that none
of us was concerned about sitting down next to a white man
and eating a hamburger.“

“Of itself, class struggle does not bring inevitable proletarian victory or even a proletarian uprising. Oppressive social conditions may
cry out for revolution, but that does not mean revolution is forthcoming.“

Unlike other faiths, monasticism has no
elevated status in Islam. In fact, the Prophet (s)
castigated those who sought to become more
pious by staying away from sexual relationships
with women, saying, ‘Marriage is a sunnah
[tradition] of mine and whoever does not follow
my sunnah is not of my followers.’

??? Can’t someone decide to stay unmarried? Is marriage something that’s mandatory?
