I'm getting bored and, unsurprisingly, annoyance is winning the upper hand

Unlike other faiths, monasticism has no
elevated status in Islam. In fact, the Prophet (s)
castigated those who sought to become more
pious by staying away from sexual relationships
with women, saying, ‘Marriage is a sunnah
[tradition] of mine and whoever does not follow
my sunnah is not of my followers.’

??? Can’t someone decide to stay unmarried? Is marriage something that’s mandatory?
