The author wrote very confidently about snakes without actually knowing anything about snakes. Google is free and I think she could’ve gotten it right had she actually googled what viper venom does. And where it goes because it doesn’t go to your stomach or muscles as she thinks it does in the book it usually causes necrosis and hemolytic effects. This book is so weird.

There are some inconsistencies that having an editor could have solved. Pg 158 “well, it is my sister’s child you hold over the portcullis”. In Mendax’s retelling Pg 167, “well, it is my sister’s child you hold over the battlements”. There are others, but this was so close together I found it surprising.

On page 44 author broke the fourth wall and I absolutely hate it when authors do that
