look i get the social commentary but ffs could this author not have made it anymore depressing. the last thing i want to read is real life issues in the most depressing way. it’s not even profound.

looks like this might be a grumpy x sunshine dynamic with the FMC being the grumpy one instead of the usual grumpy MMC, like society of irregular witches. really enjoying it. have chuckled aloud a few times already. love the different species too. there don’t seem to be any names of them, just various descriptions.

just want to add: LOVE jude for having this desire and will to fight for what she wants. LOVE a complex main female character. and actually i thought taryn was weak, but she’s not. she just wants an entirely different thing. she wants to assimilate as best she can, which unfortunately means also at the detriment of her own family.
