Bought on a whim when the author got stiffed at an event. So glad I did. I bake, I like magic in stories and there is just enough romance so far to keep me interested. Lots of tension. It's fun. Will more than likely buy the rest of the series when im done.

Only 20 pages in but it's getting late this evening. Loving the story, but im finding my US knowledge of UK English is sadly Jane Austin era for the most part. There are terms and phrases that I feel I must be missing, but maybe Brittish English speakers would get? Like jokes in the Kingsman series or Bridget Jones Duaries that go over my head. Love that we get 2 people's point of view, not just one.

She doesn't write "fancy", but this isn't that kind of book. She's descriptive and clear. It's like talking to any Vet in my neighborhood about what they did (those who will talk about it)... I will be sharing with several people localally when I finish the read
