This is good.

Oof, I have to digest this in gulps and take breaks, but the insight is so good.

I’m liking this!! Very niche. Admire his unwavering commitment to justice & bluntness about truth.

Beginning was tricky because it assumes you have solid knowledge about contemporary Russia (which I don’t, hence my wanting to read this book), but once I got into it, I began LOVING his sarcasm / sense of humor / how humanizing this book feels while divulging crazy details about Russian political corruption.

This is not it for me :/ Much better for teens.

(Irish narration is great though)

Still have the determination to finish. For now.

Mostly listening to this for the sound of Julie Andrews’ voice 🎶

3/5 — this had such a potential to be a great book! Strong characters, dual narratives alternating by chapter, questions and skepticism developing. But the storyline eventually unraveled for me, then lost its footing at the end. I think the discoveries the author finally reveals are meant to be more shocking than they actually are, and make more sense than they do.

10/10 for the audiobook narration though!!!

Love this book

This is a good one. Like getting lost in space, but flash-backed to the 80s when women were first integrated into NASA. You get sucked into Joan’s storyline: her dreams, the pressure, the prep, the risk and horror, the growth, the aftermath.

(Currently reading this while in a plane makes it feel even cooler! ✈️)
