I mean… I really want to like this book. It's cozily established and the story isn't badly thought through.
… But it's somehow redundant, repetitive. Things have been mentioned eight to fifteen times now bit never resolved or even changed, which leaves the reader with no tension, only an *I get it, move on* mindset.
Kinda makes me sad and hope that maybe I'm just too an impatient reader.

I love it so far. It's fun, it has great lines, the language holds up the medieval feeling, and the plot is cute while also being intricate.

I understand when people don't particularly like the book. But I think it's because they don't expect this from a book like this one. It's poetry in prose. It's angles no one wants to look at. It's truth, even when it hurts. And then again, you are never quite sure if it is truth after all, because it's not a human telling the story.

Ach. Du. Scheiße. Ich glaube, das Buch tut mir nicht gut. Und doch... kann ich es nicht aus der Hand legen. Was ist das denn für ein Mist?

Das Buch ist ein Mindfuck, und ich weiß noch nicht was ich davon halten soll.

I love how Bel communicates with Lily. And that Lily manages to be her sarcastic self as well as honest.

Everything I have read up until now–I love it all!

I'm really starting to root for Leah and Abby. It's fascinating how Albertalli makes you dislike her characters initially, only to show how human they truly are and that they mean well in the end. That's a talent. Maybe making them dislikable makes them so human and multidimensional...

So, Leah has a crush on Abby, got it. And also, possibly Taylor and Garrett. Which is a lot. Poor Leah. The way the author writes, it's sometimes a bit hard to understand what each person is feeling and thinking. It's fast-paced and snappy, but it also happens all at once.

So, Leah isn't really a bitch. Just insecure and yearning, like any disastrous bisexual teen. Good to know. I like it that she doesn't take shit while being just on her way to figuring herself out.

Nicht mehr ganz so viele Intrigen und nicht mehr ganz so verwirrend, aber dennoch ein paar Fragezeichen. Wahrscheinlich ist das Buch deshalb bekannt geworden... Dass man sich weiterhin nicht im Klaren ist, wie es denn ausgehen wird.

Es ist recht verwirrend zweierlei Erzählungen zu lesen und sich vorzustellen, dass der alte Schulmeister nun schon seit über 20 Seiten erzählt. Aber wahrscheinlich bin ich einfach zu müde um es mir richtig vorzustellen.

I like how Leah registers people she likes and those she doesn't like. She's pretty self-aware for someone in the background. And she's cool with those who matter to her friends, even when she has difficulty with it.

I love how Liesel's and Hans' relationship works.

I like Leah a lot and at the same time don't. She reminds me kinda of Molly, but she's harsher. A bit more judgemental. Edgy. I don't remember being that way in the first book, but I don't hate it.

I love this book. It gives me hope and tears it down and builds it back up. I wish it wouldn't wreck me so beautifully, so I could just keep reading instead of needing breaks so often.

Bisher ein so fantastisches Buch, ich muss ständig pausieren um nicht vom Inhalt überwältigt zu werden. Nun lese ich es auf Englisch (Originalsprache) und werde genauso umgehauen, wie auf Deutsch, wenn nicht sogar noch mehr.
