It's extremely entertaining to read Camus through an anarchist lense. My book club buddy and I keep going "could this be anarchism?" Meanwhile Camus is mostly concerned with writing sick one-liners that would have done the numbers on twitter.

Truly my book club buddy was right when he said this is The Myth of Sisyphus but better. It's also really funny that I keep having to tell him this book is about my D&D character. Like yeah it's an important work of philosophy that reflects on the twentieth century but it's also about a game I play with my friends yk.

Jokes aside, I think "God and the State" is a misleading title because it means you read this as a defence of atheism, rather than what it actually is: a critique of power. Book club buddy and I were joking that he would have loved Foucault and it's true.
