YUMMY...enjoying this so far. Hot and sweet!

Some parts are interesting and the rest goes agonizingly sloooooooooooooow.

It's not nearly as bad as the reviews would have had me believe. I mean it is a bit trippy and I'd read all of Part 1, I was left wondering what was supposed to be imagined and what was supposed to be real (within the story). I wasn't sure if everyting up the last page of that part was <spoiler>a dream or if only parts of it were a dream</spoiler>...

I think it's funny that the author is so against the mythology surroundling Sarah L. Winchester. I wouldn't have even cared about checking this book out if not for a link I followed from "Rose Red" wikipedia page and the idea of the Winchester house being haunted or whatever. Who would even care who she is if not for the mythology besides maybe people who give two hoots about Winchester history in general.

Just finished reading Green Glass Beads. OOooh so angsty but with a happy ending.

I finished reading the first story. It was pretty entertaining.

I am LOVING this book! Why am I just now reading this? I wish my local library had ANY of her works. As it is I had to go through Interlibrary Loan to get a copy. If I had any cash, I'd be buying up every one of her books.

...because I think you have to stop drinking for yourself not because a teenager tells you to...ultimatums don't usually end well do they? I don't know maybe they do for some people but I was annoyed/hated all the characters.And for the love of god why didn't they just keep that fucking dog outside if neither the son or father could always remember to let him out??? That is all.

I'm abandoning this story. I got to page 272 and then skimmed the rest because I don't know...while it was well-written (I know I keep saying that but it's the best thing I can say about this book), it was just so fucking bleak and I didn't like any of the characters. Like even though I KNOW Dan has a drinking problem, I had a bit of a problem with his son giving him an ultimatum because...

There's been too much of Dan's inner thoughts and too little dialogue.

Had to get to page 135 to finally get to Dan and Bill headed off to Bill's friend's wedding. Aaaaand now we have the author talking about the mysterious lake and Thom's friends and family and Sebastiano's sister. I'm still reading because like I said it's a well-written story but I think the author took too long to get to the (what I hope to be) good stuff.

This is well-written. There isn't any mystery yet unless you count the fact that Dan is a private investigator but most of the first 100 pages has been background history on the character. I'm hoping it moves beyond that or it will become a boring story pretty soon despite it being a well-written one.

I just started reading this and I'm kind of not liking Dan...bit of an asshole really but I wasn't exactly looking for happyhappy joyjoy lol

Oh my the "assassin" and the "villain" meet. I nearly wet myself in anticipation of what would happen when they first encountered each other and then...yeah nothing really happens. They give each other googly eyes and the air stinks of tension but that good just be gas.

I also love how Emily/Bo keeps having these internal monologues which pretty much amount to "I'm an assassin and they must die. Feel my pain." She probably just need a drink and a cuddle.

I'm still slogging my way through...One part was funny-when some chick named Maggie says something about Teddy being an alcoholic and Kyle is thinking (genius that he is)"Omg how DID she know that???" And I'm like "Kyle-sweety-PEOPLE PROBABLY WERE GOSSIPING ABOUT TEDDY'S drinking issues!"
