where are we!!!

this is why you don't let your internalized homophobia win

holy shit and jesus christ

I'm so hooked don't get me wrong I'm hooked....but the format is so hard to digest

this book is conjuring imagery i could never have imagined

I haven't gotten into the proper freak shit yet but this writing style is so right up my alley why has no one put me on this author before now?

the way that this had the opportunity to be saved for december but it's okay it can be christmas in august I guess

title card already

a white man??! NO

monsters are intrinsically queer, as they are the feared and scrutinized "other." a monster is driven by unruly desires and feasts with pride. a monster can be both inhuman and deeply human all at once

so much murder talk for how frankly juvenile the rest of the book was

all the drama is stored in the last 100 pages

they're painfully sweet. their fluff is precious but also there is soooo much fluff. I need a singular exciting thing to occur.

"what is a monster but a creature of agency?" OOO write that down

WOW HAPPY PRIDE

girl! run!!!

how the hell am I finishing this in 2 days

genderqueer and asexual........is this fucking play about us........

"I dislike terms like 'normal' and 'regular.' they're ambiguous and lack objectivity." YOU TELL THEM PROFESSOR

lore accurate carmilla who is immediately flirtatious and intrusive and lowkey a bitch. I love her.

finally picking this up again and I forgot how good it is! I love gay people and monsters!

you have a gorgeous vampire baddie in the other room and you're still worried about your shit husband and his shit friends? stand up

been a little preoccupied lately lol took me 4 days to get through 1 chapter

intro quoting the vvitch? you got me. I'm hooked.

locking back in on my sapphics i WILL get back on track for my reading goal!!!

:((

putting to words so many thoughts and feelings I've never been able to articulate oh roxane you are in my head i feel ill

went from tears inducing to just uncomfortably relatable but we'll see how many more tears will come by the end

why are you in my head roxane?

the setup did not have to be nearly as long as it was, but now that the boring part is over I'm having more fun
