Boring fables so far, don't know what all the fuss is about. Hate to do it, but probably going to dnf this

So far big fight over a banana skin and we learn the protagonist's boss stinks of onions... what? ? :)

After seeing the second half of the hammer horror movie version the other night, thought this might be interesting

Unbelievably, my first Brian Aldiss book and a good one to pick it seems - the central idea may be dated now but so far this is intriguing and fast and exciting. Reminds me a bit of Moorcock's The Black Corridor, but better.

Funny that one of the characters fakes his own drowning to get out of going to work. Hahaha a man after my own heart :)

So far very slow

Excellent book so far. Quite tragic and disturbing. Very dark.

Very so slow far. Half way and not much "going between" going on, just stuff about "spooning" (haha) and boring cricket. Very Eton schoolboy(ish)

Since I'm reading these books, Goodreads now recommends Piggle Wiggle's Farm. Errrm, nope. :)

So far it's wonderful

Found this in a charity shop. Just started it and already Kersh's caustic style is leaving an impression on me.

Struggling to finish this. No story all thick prose.

Was all going well, enjoying the rent collector's interactions with the tenants but then the book starts giving us the characters themselves, dropping Norman, the rent collector, and it's all gone a bit messy. Well, I will keep reading, see how it pans out

Decided to read a poorly written "trashy" horror. So far, a third through and this reminds me of Guy N Smith. Same plot structure, character narration in big blocks of telling with horror scenes here and there. I'm coming across the same kind of sexual obs here as Smith - I'll never forget that scene in one of Smith's books where the main characters is wanking on his way up the stairs to brutally murder his wife/gf!!
