Buddy, I've got some news for you about that one...

Loving this so far. The symbols are not meant to be parsed out and reduced to their "literal" correspondence. They create an imaginative world which we inhabit and which changes the way we see our world.

Reading as a "self study" assignment for my class on Hebrews to Revelation. So far nothing especially new, although I'm enjoying the detailed look at the various ancient cosmologies.

This is such a perfect book for this moment. Not only is it set in the autumn; it's about people loving and fighting for each other in a world that seems to be falling apart.

Is this... perhaps... a romance that actually works? in a recent novel?? it's a rivals-to-lovers that isn't toxic?? I didn't actually think that was possible

I'm reading this in pieces, to take a break from paper writing, and it's perfect. Step away from the stress and into June's world.

This is so strangely paced. I feel like we should be at the midpoint (at most), not nearly at the climax.

I'm convinced what's going on here is the publisher said "we need an enemies-to-lovers trope" and hardly anyone has the writing ability to do that well.

I've never read anything by this author, and I know this is a sequel series, but it was a 7-day hot pick on Libby. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Also, why do girls in these books immediately fall for the most annoying guy present oh my gosh

Very cogent and sound discourse on the persons of the Trinity. I think it must be my own executive dysfunction that I just cannot stay focused on it 😭

I actually started this one ages ago and then forgot about it for a while. Now it's my lunch reading (although I'm debating going back for a full reread -- there's a lot of dense theological work going on, and I'd like to spend more time thinking through it).

Rereading this for the... third time? Fourth? I want to read all the Harriet Vane books in order and listen to the Literary Life podcast episodes on them. I love Sayers so much but honestly, the opening courtroom scene is multiple chapters of straight exposition and it doesn't quite stand up to many rereads.

I can't believe I'm already halfway through. feels like I'm just getting started. I don't even know how to convey the brilliance of the prose here.
