Clean, precise prose. I expected arty, hippy-ish writing. I liked the simplicity of the writing. the bear is like her friend. Sedate, observant writing until half way through where the main character is starting to feel restless about fleeing her personal eden. Might descend into crazy woman in the woods book now.

I don't know what's happening at the end. I'm not famillar with Chinese mythology and folklore so a lot of the plot went over my head.
