Okay yeah, I don’t like how the book alternates between the present and past in every other chapter…..

So far into the book it’s sad to see how the marriage between Shakespeare and Agnes is partly due to both of their traumatized childhood life.

I finally got through the section on the Trinity bomb test, and it left me feeling heavy and a little depressed.

The atomic bomb itself feels like one of the most controversial legacies of human history — a symbol of both scientific achievement and devastating destruction.

The morality of war has never been simple, but the creation of the bomb makes those questions even harder to face.
