Whilst it seemed as though the plot was meandering along the story feels almost too straightforward and obvious for a typical James Patterson book. An intriguing and interesting read, I'm expecting a twist coming up soon that will make or break this novel.

Being a fan of the Women's Murder Club series of books I was looking forward to this bitesized story and right from the off it's not disappointing, the mystery and intrigue has already developed and as beginnings go, this is a decent one.

As far as plot twists go, there haven't been any surprises thus far, the story is still fairly engaging but doesn't appear to be moving at much of a pace. Whilst there does appear to be a build up to the inevitable ending, I can not help but feel this is leading to a rather shoulder shrugging tale of "Mexican Cartel" rinse and repeat, heard it before, story telling.

There's no hanging around with this one, right out of the gates the story kicks into gear and provides a hook. This being a Women's Murder Club story I'm already familiar with the characters so the brief stops in the story to explain who characters are can feel jarring but things quickly pick back up.
I can't shake the feeling that there is a twist to the tale coming though, the story feels too straight forward...

As the story progresses I'm getting more interested in the outcome, a small but predictable twist has kept the narrative moving. Very easy read.

Whilst a part of me struggles to not grin at the fact the lead character shares the same name as an antiperspirant brand the story is at least progressing, whilst it's currently a slow build with a small predictable twist, time permitting, I'd happily continue turning pages to see where this story goes. Shame about the eye rolling love interest of the lead character, Mills and Boon would be proud.

Not much has happened that could be considered a surprise, so far a predictable story arch that will likely wrap up in typical Patterson fashion; quickly and abruptly.
So far this has been an okay read but I do want the story to get to the point, the writing style is slightly odd with a third person narrative that breaks done each time a character has a conversation, something about it doesn't feel quite right.

The premise of the story seems to be fairly obvious from the title and is certainly heading in that direction. Whilst there was a small hint at a potential twist to the tail this fizzled out very quickly.
At this point, I'm not sure where the story is heading and seems to be caught up on providing background to the main character and his relationships than progressing the story itself.

Reading this in 2025 does raise questions as to the current position we find ourselves in with certain people manufacturing their own robotics, are they really all they seem to be on the surface or do they too have a sinister motive? That's not for me to say....
The plot doesn't seem to be moving me away from what I feel the ending is going to be, if anything, this far into the book, it feels like a certainty.

So far the plot is progressing at a good pace in typical James Patterson fashion. At this point, it seems obvious as to the outcome but there could always be a plot twist just over the next page! Easy read and just as easy to lose a chunk of time with before realising it!
