I’m really loving the storytelling so far. I have a fond attachment to the main characters and I like the “family” dynamics that have been built up. I hated the part where the character John was introduced, talking about how he mistreated dogs— I was finding myself actually pissed off by his character, which was intended and well done by the author.

I am incredibly lost

Everyone is dead except the child now; and whilst her words are powerful, I don’t feel any attachment to these characters, I don’t know if that was intended, maybe considering the main character, the child, is pretty void of feelings herself so far, at least in her current reflections.

Have just read that the women have figured out the days are between 15 & 18 hours based on the girl counting her heartbeats and they are given 6 hours of sleep time. Im super intrigued.

I’m very intrigued and curious as to whether these women and the guards will have any formal contact with one another
