I’m not entirely hooked, but it’s still interesting, the writing style flips between past and present with a compelling narration

I’m sure I’m not the first to say that the writing is beautiful, but I’m also pretty sure I’m not the first to say that its a bit difficult to understand and takes a good while to get through.

the book is great, that’s all I can say; there’s some parts I wished could’ve been expanded on, but overall it’s amazing.

okay it’s getting really good, there’s more tension and the author really makes you forget that nike turns out to be multi-billion-dollar successful.

the writing is good but it’s a bit hard to get “sucked into” it like other books sometimes do, but that might just be because it’s a memoir.

in the beginning I didn’t really enjoy the writing style and was fighting my way through the book. but now, having finished the third part, I’m enthralled. the book is beautiful, simple yet powerful plot. Hirai traveling to see her sister Kumi and gaining the perfect closure.

just finished the second part. the story of Fusagi and Kohtake is so sad, yet simultaneously incredibly beautiful. definitely enjoyed it, was well written.

just finished the first part, the lovers. I’m slowly getting more and more into it, it’s well-made and interesting. writing style is still a bit difficult to get into, but the plot has been evening it out.
