I take it back; the writing being “bad” actually works and it is so far a good adaptation of Macbeth.

It’s getting better but still meh

Not sure if the book is intended to read like a 16 year old’s inner monologue or this is the writers style but it’s awful.

Once again the idea of a classic is better than the experience. At least Dracula is easy to follow, this is just words on a page.

Pain here means transformation, specifically pregnancy. The book was amazing at the start but it’s becoming less about an obsession with horror and more about women in horror films linked to pregnancy and motherhood - yet no mention of Alien 2.

I’ve been enjoying Feeding the Monster however the anxiety chapter wasn’t as I expected. A lot of the content focused on motherhood and being trapped with a sprinkling of other horror films about perfection - to me this isn’t anxiety. Chapter 1 was in regards to “Fear” which to me is very similar to “anxiety” with the first being a more engaging and enjoyable read.

Wasn’t expecting a murder/dead body in this one. Assumed Mel and Sue were on the run or running away from something
