Favorite memories from childhood include biking a couple blocks to a friends house to jump on their trampoline. Also walking to the gas station with those same friends so buy drinks (half a mile away). Adults weren’t involved whatsoever. Going “outside” where I was allowed to go in the neighborhood felt fun and scary.

The French really do just eat better from the beginning. Like a meeting among the chefs of the daycare about the menu for the month. Making sure there’s no repeats and different fruits and vegetables PLUS dessert? Amazing 😩

I think it’s interesting that such a small thing as making your children greet/say hello to adults when walking into a business or house can help them feel more confident and at the same “level” as the adults. It gives them respect both ways.

It’s so crazy how two different cultures have such different parenting styles. And this first part about “the pause” with sleeping isn’t that mind blowing or even obvious to most French people but it helps the moms/families SO much. I will definitely be attempting the pause so they can “do their nights” by 2 months
