Will England is on page 168 of 351 of Blood Meridian, or, the Evening Redness in the West
It's definitely the hardest read for me so far by Cormack Mccarthy. Sometimes I have to look up multiple words in the same sentence just to know what was meant. Do not recommend for anyone with less than a grade 8 reading level. Aside from that, a whole lot of scalping and scenes of vague genocide

The footnotes really help in the second book. A lot of great moments would be lost in translation if Grossman didn't clarify wordplay or add context to certain events that happened in the 1500s when in Cervantes' time, it was common knowledge.

"Whose mother is history, the rival of time, repository of great deeds, witness to the past, example and advisor to the present, and forewarning to the future."

Still don't get what this book is about. Most of it goes so far over my head, I feel as though I missed something important every time I put it down. Something about the way 6 written makes my mind drift off, and before I know it, I've read pages but gained nothing.

To all of my followers out there, this is the first book I have read where I cannot continue engrossment. It's written very well. However, I can't stop my mind from wandering while I read it. I can tell it has literary substance, but I just can't cure myself from thought (or perhaps over-thought). It may be something tugging on the strings of my subconscious unrelated to the book. So far, I cannot stay focused.

Just finished volume 2 and read the first chapter of volume 3, where Elizabeth visits Pemberley with the Gardiners. Let's just say Mrs. Reynolds, the housekeeper? Best wingman ever.

Finished volume 1, Charlotte Lucas and Mr. Collins? Didn't see that one coming.

Just finished part 4. Cathy still is evil, but at least she has a little pushback from Adam. Tom didn't deserve this, and neither did Dessie. The hard thing about reading a multi generational story is that every character from the beginning will be gone by the end. After reading 100s of pages about certain families, it's hard not to have favorites. After part 4, I have less.
