Okay the second part became really meta, with an self insert from the author and part 1 being an physical book that exists in the story now

The last few chapters slowed down a lot, and was more of a drag than I had wanted. The beginning of part 2 is interesting as it is working against the ending achieved in part 1

It was sad to see the cast of amazing cast of characters leave. Hopefully we’ll see them soon, but it was a sweet parting. The humor is still on point though

It’s been such a fun ride. A lot of the loose plot ends are being tied up. The story’s of the Anselmo and the captain, are great commentaries on the social class, religion, and honor. And the humor is still on point, especially the scene where Don Quixote was tricked into being hung in the air by the tying of this wrist to a wall. This part had some of the best chapters of the whole book and in general.

The story of Anselmo and Lotario, imo might be a foreshadowing of the end of Don Quixote’s story. Also DQ’s madness is rampant as ever, even in his sleep. And Sancho is turning out to be just as mad as his master

Don Fernando is a prime example of the abuse power allows. Cardenio and Dorotea, are the victims of the abuse, but the overall sub plot of that story is so good. Don Quixote is finally back and his crazy imagination and beliefs were missed. But now he has to go through with the consequences of his prior action in saving the prisoners

Cardenio, my king, Don Fernando may you rot in hell. I wasn’t expecting a Shakespearean tragedy in this book, but it was so enthralling.

The story has slowed down a bit in the antics but still is really funny. It’s a mix of like old children cartoon humor and dark humor

Omg page 117 and all of chapters 16-17 had me rolling. This book is better than I expected!

So far, it has been amazing. The ending of part 2 of part 1 was really good philosophical and took jabs at typical chivalry and the lack of choice women had. And the windmill scene is the standout so far because it kind of came out of left field

Paracelsus is the goat honestly of acknowledging the stupidity of alchemists before him, in how they make lies and how only they know the truth. Also English alchemist are so stupid

Very good on the materialism origins of Greek alchemy, and the spiritual origins of Chinese alchemy. The instruments section was a bit slow, but being able to connect tools to current chemistry equivalents helped.
