I wasnt planning on ACTUALLY reading this book at first but man im a sucker for obsessive alcoholic detectives (w a sad wife backstory bonus as well)

I liked the beautifully haunting imagery, and I liked the description of the different lands, my favourite one being Thalarion. I also liked the idea of Cathuria (which I’m probably overanalyzing bc I don’t think Lovecraft thought this far) but I saw it as the representation of the hope the lighthousekeeper had for his life holding more excitement than it has.

started this book again from the beginning bc i stopped reading it so long ago i lowk forgot what happened
