I find it funny and a bit sad how much prices have increased since this book was written (thanks inflation). It seems a bit unrealistic in today’s world to have no credit cards or loans, since you need credit to buy bigger things like a car or house. Limiting borrowing use is important, but I’m hoping he emphasizes how to build credit without accumulating debt.

Ooo I love this devo already! Packed with the scriptures, it seeks the Lord’s written Word for what the Church is. No agenda other than to go to God and see what He created us for as the Body of Christ. I’ve already picked up on things I haven’t before. 12/10!!

Oh my goodness is this book getting good!!! Look at God moving the hard hearts!! I admit I was a bit impatient in the beginning of the book, but boy was it worth the wait for these moments. So much better than just a romance book- it goes deeper than that into how God romance’s us to follow Him. So cool that this is displayed in a 70AD setting with the Roman Empire!

The intro was strong in communicating how backwards our country is with borrowing before we have the means to own something. It was a great start to remind you that debt is not peaceful, will harm you long term, and that God has a better way of stewarding our resources! Excited to learn more.

Ahh I love this book so much!! God is healing so many, turning their hearts toward himself! Really hoping for Julia and Marcus that they will turn towards Him.💕

It’s getting so good. Seeing where Marcus is going spiritually is encouraging, as well as Haddassah’s humility and boldness in the Lord. I long for those around her to see that it’s God’s work in and through her, not just her being a good person. I see so many relations of this book to daily life as a child of God, and am liking it!

I wish they’d convict someone, the back and forth is frustrating and that they struggle to put the pieces together for the whole story. The court room is a wild place that seems to be full of lies and people trying to sway things in their favor. It should be about trying to solve the murder, but alas, I am not a judge or a detective.

It seems slow developing but the plot thickens… I’m intrigued to see where it goes from here.

The investigation and court testimonies seem never ending… it makes you think of your own ideas of who killed them while also making you frustrated of all the lies. The Dixie Mafia was crazy messed up. Hoping that there will be a decision reached and that the truth will come out!

Lots of context and history going on but I think we’re getting somewhere with solving the case. There’s clearly a lot of lying crooked men and women in this web of corruption that is the Dixie Mafia.

I’m learning to accept that currently this book is more about the salvation of others than romance from the previous book. Super encouraging how the characters are finding their faith, but I am hopeful for romance in the future haha.

It picks up a year later after the last book, and there’s lots of division, grief, and tension. My heart breaks with it but I’m hopeful for restoration!

Calabah and Primius are basically satan’s pawns on Julia’s shoulders, I hate it. Proud of Haddassah’s courage to share the gospel!! Torn that those she loves are not willing to accept Christ and she can’t love the man she loves because of it.

Heart-wrenching yet there’s hope for redemption. I feel every deep emotion Haddassah feels, and a longing for those she serves to have the fear of the Lord.

I like how we’re building on the characters now. It’s hard reading the descriptions of the Romans and others who worship foreign gods or their own desires, with a lack of reverence for the One true God. There’s little romance so far but hints of attraction. I like how it references Haddassah’s internal wrestling with sharing the Gospel openly, it feels relatable.

Now we’re getting somewhere!!
I will say, her transitions mid chapter aren’t always very clear. But overall I’m liking where the storyline is going!

I like how detailed the writing is, but I wish I was out of the character building and into the bigger plot. I’ll be patient though!
