Truly exquisite writing. Jumping around the stories and her later work is top notch.

Never mind, it’s fine, I just needed to push through that particular chapter

Something made me lose interest. Probably the fact that I’ve read 400 pages non stop and the book is packed with unrelenting tension. Tension should be released from time to time in such long books. I don’t think that’s happening here so I should probably take a break for today

I thought it was going to fall into pulp cliches but it didn’t! Quite happy with this so far

A perfect display on how to shatter the narrator’s voice:
