A while ago I tried to watch a movie based on this novel and I got the same impression - some stinky personality has the main character. I mean, at the 106 page of the whole book he still something rather bad than good person with some weirdo’s intentions. Yet, this novel something else in comparison with siege of Lisabon. This one more attractive and makes more sense, while much harder to read
