The Day with Dormammu issue was really great and the highlight so far

I read “Strange” today. Mackay has good voices for these characters but I feel like Strange’s death never felt even a little consequential because the past version of him is in all of Death of dr strange, and then he comes back as the harvestman early in this! Commit to your status quo let clea stand alone for a bit

I know that reading this all at once is different than reading month to month but still.

Issues 1-3 were cute and fun

Ben Grimm stories make me smile

I knew about the Xemnu arc from a Sir Superhero YouTube video but it was even better reading it myself and is my favorite part of this series so far

Seeing the avengers face off against this spooky hulk was crazy

The issue after that also had the most uncomfortable body horror so far

I’m following an online reading guide so I’m doing the best defense next

Issue 3 with the different perspectives and art was interesting

The first issue of this is perfect and ewing’s little author’s note at the back sells it so well

OWUD tie ins still feel a little weird next to the main story and yet I can’t be annoyed bc they’re so so so good

I like the hard shift into this being a murder mystery but like I don’t buy that Stephen strange would just abandon earth bc he’s not sorcerer supreme anymore unless I’m misinterpreting this

Luna snow with actual conflict and personality?! I didn’t know they knew how to do that

The writing and worldbuilding in this are good but it feels like it takes place in a much more fascist world than one world under doom is presenting so far

The ben Grimm “rock bottom” issue made me misty

These first three issues are really good. The Batman team up was fun and actually furthered Simon as a character finally

Issue 7 is a nice little story

The excessive narration works for Jessica who is an anxious overthinker but I think for Simon he’d be more effective if he had less dialogue. I get why you wouldn’t want to do that since they’re co-leads. This book also writes Simon’s struggles and culture well but I want him to have some other personality traits or interests to round him out. Liked his anxiety over his mom.

Halfway through. I want to love this but I just like it. The art compliments the story well and the ideas and themes are interesting but it is slow and I think it gets lost in the weeds a bit

I hope the movie does the green sun issue

The moment when she helps out the one alien with burying all his dead friends is beautiful.

Re-reading. I love the story and art and there are great character moments but man is it wordy

Not a lot of real narrative here but as a canon fiend it’s fun seeing how all these characters and concepts in this early new republic era intertwine
