I really like this book. There are some really tragic, grimacing moments. For example, stories about the troubles and about the kitchen sink realities of “normal” lives. However, the characters are all relatable and there is some dark humour mixed in.

I have finished the introduction. So far I have been very entertained. I have a newfound appreciation of the power of the English language!

A bit like Joyce’s Dubliners, with it’s stories about diverse characters and it’s disconnected narrative
