I did laugh when they had sex and then there was a single line “oh he came back tired” and they had more sex. And then no plot, just more sex. No idea what happens plot wise.
I know I was grabbing dark romance but damn we aren’t even trying. Also she’s not feisty come on.
I wish they explored his friendship with his best friend-bro at least since I’m a sucker for that.

Quite interesting how the first book is written borderline satirically, well, in a way you’d expect the author to write trying to keep the dire situation of the hero sort of light hearted.
I was tempted to just read the later, older, darker books but seeing how much I don’t remember… I’m glad I’m doing a full re read.
