Study abroad gone horribly wrong, though Lily is perhaps a bit sociopathic to being with, though maybe that is just my own projection, if Lily is intended to be a blank slate, as the author suggests, for everyone to form their own strong opinions about, much like Amanda Knox, whom I do empathize with and even admire, in a way.
