Surprisingly engaging read I am thoroughly engrossed. I love to learn forever

I love the creeping uneasiness that continues building in this book- the unreliable narrator, the fates of everyone on previous expeditions… very good

Already extremely good. I like Vandermeer’s work already conceptually, but actually getting to read his prose and experience this story for myself firsthandedly is even better than I was hoping for. Inadvertently this series has already influenced a lot of my preference for science fiction just by virtue of seeing the movie and hearing so many friends discuss the books - so I really like what I see so far.

A very interesting story told in a very boring way. I can see why the concept is compelling, but the prose is a bit dense and overly descriptive for my tastes.

Fucking hell man. I ache. Really good book.

I keep trying to describe this book to people but can never quite explain it. It always tangents off into incomprehensible ranting - never enough context. It makes perfect sense to me but I can’t translate it. I don’t think there is a way to translate it. You just have to experience to to get it.

Something’s wrong

I became completely engrossed after ten pages. I’ve never been immersed in a narrative so quickly. I forgot that I was at work while reading this, and was dumbfounded when I blinked and realized 45 minutes had passed, and my shift was over. I can see everything so clearly, and yet I can’t envision it at all. Something’s wrong. I like it.
