Thus far it’s an easy read with good points on how effective it is to have short term and long term goals for a congregation involving both “inreach” and “outreach.”

“For an adequate notion of guidance, however, we must add to this that God’s plan for us is to lead us in paths of righteousness, which means that the decisions we make should always have in view the twin goals of maximum service to others and maximum pleasing of God”

After the authors definition of righteousness I put it down. How do you know you have ‘maximumly’ pleased God? Total works righteousness.

The character development is great.

It’s gotten a bit far fetched to keep my interest. I’ll only finish it, to finish it.

Some great stories. Much of what he speaks of I have seen in real life. It translates quite well.

If you are familiar it’s 4 square leadership: I do, you watch, I do you assist, you do I assist, you do I watch. It’s being aware that our lives have impact upon others as we are Kingdom (of God) representatives who carry Kingdom responsibility. It’s discipleship in a nutshell.

The ‘intro’ is fantastic especially the last line.

Interesting but too far fetched. Some details could have been left out.

I had put this down for a bit because it gets repetitive. Then again, how many times do we have to hear something before it sinks in. It challenges us to see ‘the dirt of others’ not through a judgmental eye, rather to see them through compassion no matter where they are. If you have studied discipleship through 3DM this is a book that demonstrates the principals of discipleship.

Some of it is too far fetched to add any weight. Some of the characters are interesting.
