I’m DNF-ing. I so wanted to love this and dive back into the world that got me hooked into reading fantasy at 13 (and reading in general). This book is not it. After the first couple chapters it’s not in the world I love and the only character that’s really featured is Tamani. Instead of it being expanded upon in a creative way, there are just two disjointed elements thrown in.

Trying to be as spoiler free as possible but these locks and cracks are getting tiring. I’m halfway and I feel like it’s the same thing over and over and although there is new information coming to light. I honestly don’t know when/how this is going to end how. My brain keeps going “whole new cast, whole new trials” there is not enough of one character (spoilers if I say who) and sometimes too much of Lyra

I’m officially skip reading this. It’s like double the length it needs to be. The smut is written well though

Ugh why did you have to reference TikTok and say ” I was today years old”. Big ik. I’m not sure how I’m feeling about this book. So far I’m 30% into it and nothing has really happened. I’m hoping it gets a bit better so I don’t feel buyers remorse about getting the special editions of these. I really enjoyed the first book though.

On page 62-161 of Hopes and Ideals (the memoir written by my brother’s grandfather about his experience on the German side of WWII and his escape). I put this down for a while because of the state of the current climate and general stress but I’ve had it for a year and am not quite half way yet so I thought it’s time to start reading it again.

This volume has so much love and soul. I am so happy

No shit bitch, he literally told you to take their species into consideration when asking for their help. You didn’t think that meant that they had more than one function? You’ve also literally had them do a variety of things already so idk why this is a revelation now.

Trying my hardest not to cry at work. It has been a long time since I’ve cried for a character. I’ve been torn to shreds. I was honestly not expecting to enjoy this as much as I am even if this has broken me just a little. (Book 2 is on the way I am very excited)
