idrk how i feel about emma and harriet’s relationship because emma likes her and at the same time uses her as entertainment and emotional replacement… and also finds her stupid but that’s kind of justified (?)

however 2 things i really like
- this book easily passes the bechdel test
- the writing is beautiful

i knowww i always say this but harriet’s introduction was SO wlw

also emma’s very glinda for how kind she sees herself for wanting to help harriet

anyway themes ive seen: loneliness & isolation, socio-cultural context/influences, exploration of relationships (miss taylor and weston her husband, the latter and his son…)
