On hold for now. Might come back to this one at some future date.

DNF … so many books, not enough time to spend on ones I’m not sure why I’m reading, especially if it’s a long novel like this one! That said, the 13 chapters I did get through were fascinating and quite entertaining, so I may return to this eventually.

I first read this novel six years ago, and found it just as powerful this time round.

Thanks to Amazon First Reads for the opportunity to read this memoir pre-publish date. I found the book compelling, a fascinating and touching account of the young author’s life challenges.

On hold until my turn comes around again in the library hold queue, 98 patrons ahead of me!

Beautifully written, but such a disturbing read, too close to our present world’s reality, I had to pace myself, and now have put it on hold for a spell. Also the lack of paragraph breaks and no dialogue punctuation make it more challenging, no white space, relentless suffering, perhaps that is the point.

On hold until my turn comes around again to borrow it from the digital library.

Re-reading favourites, and practicing my Welsh.

I’m doing a full re-read of this favourite. Poetry books are best when returned to, there’s always something new to discover and the words dance with fresh meaning.

Book due back at library; and I’m only half way through. Interesting, but also alarming, a wake up call. So, for now I’ll have to wait until my hold turn comes up again.

This is a re-read of the novel I first read over twenty years ago. Time to refresh my memory.

I wanted to begin the New Year by re-reading one of my favourite novellas. I first read The Everrumble in 2020.

I am re-reading Under Milk Wood for the sheer joy of Dylan’s poetic wordplay. (Best read with a Welsh accent.)

I first discovered Song To The Rising Sun in 1999. It has become a treasured favourite down the years since then. Methinks it’s time to re-read the whole collection, for the sheer exuberance of Paulette Jiles’ creative language.

Re-reading one of my favourite Canadian poets. Wonderful poetic use of language, wild imagination, these poems offer the reader surprise and astonishment.

This is a 2021 re-read of one of my favourite poetry collection (I’ll be getting to them all as winter wears on.) Throaty Wipes for the sheer fun of Poet Holbrook’s word play.

This is a re-re-re-read of the delightful Winnie-the-Pooh classic stories.

Returning to an old favourite and finding something new.

This January I’m returning to Murmur for my morning poetry reading. I want to focus more on the original Welsh verses this time! Wish me luck.

I am currently re-reading The Memory of Running, first read in 2006. I remembered being very taken with the story, but couldn't recall much about why I liked it. Well, I'm enjoying it as much the second time around.

Rumi is one of my perennial favourite poets, and this book is dipped into often. Decided to re-read from beginning, a poem or two each day.

Found the first half of this novel hard going, slow moving, almost gave up; but it gets better and I'm back into it. Compared to The Cuckoo's Calling, and Silkworm this Cormorant Strike mystery is a disappointment.

This is a re-read of an old favourite. And I'm enjoying it just as much the second time round.
