Very dense but very interesting.

Edit for my previous comments: I was not fully familiar with my GOAT TJ’s game. I will no longer be disrespecting the Sage of Monticello who fully deserves his place on Mt Rushmore (to be fair, he’s always been a top 3 president in my book).

Extremely fascinating thus far. The author is sort of glossing over Thomas Jefferson’s greatest weakness as a historical figure and statesman: his lack of support for the Constitution. In nothing else are the thoughts and ideas of Thomas Jefferson more clearly refuted by history.
Jefferson as a political theorist was more anti-tyranny than pro-anything substantive, and he was dead wrong about the Constitution.

Worst NJO book to date, but not bad. Struggling to get through mostly because of school, but it’s still been something of a slog.
