5 minutes into the audiobook and Kate Reading said the phrase “impossible man.” My sleeper agent programming activated and now I have to re-read or re-listen to the Wheel of Time.

No windlass yet. Also, Jim Butcher is 1000% a cat person.

Once I finish this book I’ll finally be caught up on the Dresden Files, which is awesome, but it means I’ll have to actually wait for the next book, which is not.

Very dense but very interesting.

Edit for my previous comments: I was not fully familiar with my GOAT TJ’s game. I will no longer be disrespecting the Sage of Monticello who fully deserves his place on Mt Rushmore (to be fair, he’s always been a top 3 president in my book).

Extremely fascinating thus far. The author is sort of glossing over Thomas Jefferson’s greatest weakness as a historical figure and statesman: his lack of support for the Constitution. In nothing else are the thoughts and ideas of Thomas Jefferson more clearly refuted by history.
Jefferson as a political theorist was more anti-tyranny than pro-anything substantive, and he was dead wrong about the Constitution.

Worst NJO book to date, but not bad. Struggling to get through mostly because of school, but it’s still been something of a slog.
