Fantastically funny

The use of words is mesmerising and beautiful. Nafisi makes you want to read all the books she refers to-even the ones I’ve already read and didn’t like before

I find the plot a bit difficult, but the author's view on Nabokov is fascinating. Her view of what's happening around her is also fascinating, even in its darkest moments.

I like the rebellious spirit of our protagonist and how she craves for power.

Find it kind of repetitive;the characters some times tend to be one dimensional. Especially the protagonist is giving Mary Sue vibes. Nevertheless, I love the idea of telling the story from this view point, the book is entertaining and fun to read and it’s the perfect balance of lightness and fascination

The plot is flowing. Something is always moving. You never feel bored and yet you cannot tell how hundred pages passed.

Love the rebellious, ambitious protagonist, her thoughts about the world, her braveness and her curiosity, but I also love seeing her growing up
