After hearing Galeano talk about players being walking advertisements, it made me think of how much capitalism has invaded sports. This is also why I really like Galeano’s writing and this book. The book talks about the spirit of soccer and these players. How it changed their lives and how beautiful this game can be

Galeano’s writing is some of the most interesting and beautifully crafted I’ve read. I freaking love this book. He’s hilarious, insightful, and takes your breath away all at once, and I’ve just started
