I'm only two stories in, but I really loved Be Not Afraid by Ashia Monet. Great message/commentary, really interesting MC, and it was also fitting having just come from reading more of BWoC2.

I did skip over "And the Sea Gave Up the Dead", which is one of the longer stories in this, but I will eventually return to it before reviewing. I'm just not in the mood yet to read a (what seems to be quite faithful) recreation of 18th century writing.

So far Aesthete by Justin C. Key is my favorite story. Just wow! I could read a whole series with this worldbuilding.

Wife dies, immediately hooks up with hot outlaw woman he was fantasizing of assaulting. Cool, cool. Also, how convenient that Agnes's dying wish was for Tom to build a cathedral when before she was frustrated at him for how his cathedral obsession nearly ruined his family.

If Gyles doesn't get sick because he's such a good guy and apparently so "strong" he can become immune to a horrible plague... I swear to God... 🙄

I'm only a few pages in and already I'm asking so many questions. What is with this dialogue? Why do we keep switching POVs on the fly like this? Who is actually the main character? (I assumed it was Lady Anne from the synopsis). All the character exposition right off the jump is annoying me too.
