I'm not really into short stories. I always end up wanting more, or I'm left with too many questions. I just don't get really invested. I just wanted something to listen to while I was driving. I did really enjoy the Alice in Wonderland kind of story featured in this anthology and the bird girl one. Other than those two, I don't remember the other stories.

I normally enjoy YA and especially love the stories of arranged marriages, the mystery usually associated with the story. But this one was sooo YA! The MC is definitely immature and so innocent. I will say the narrator does a hell of a job. her voice is PERFECT for this character. It grated on my nerves, though, so I DNF'd it.

I was sooo excited to reread this series, but I'm about 4.5 hrs from finishing and it's depressing me. Could just be that it's close to my period and I feel weepy & tired & anxious, plus I have a mild cold. Think I'll come back to it next week sometime. Maybe then I'll finish.

I did not like this book at all. I couldn't get past page 20. It's boring and feels like a parody. I don't like parodies at all.

Couldn't get through the first chapter. Like the storyline, but there's so much wrong. She really needs to get a quality editor. I could get past the insta-love of ALL the characters and maybe even the sequence of events/ flow issues, but this first chapter was it. At the end of book 2, the king basically knights Miara & crowns Aven king, but no one thought, hey, what happened to Thel after the tower collapses? Ugh.

I'm about halfway through and it's really intriguing. The young Golds have to fight to establish dominance. It's brutal, violent. The only rule seems to be that no one can be killed, but they can be raped, an ear can be cut off, head bashed, and beat down. Wow! Thankfully, the descriptions aren't too graphic. The brutality is just stated matter-of-factly.

I was so excited to read this book. The premise was fascinating & the book received so much acclaim that I thought it was a sure thing. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I'm 62 pages in, starting chapter 12, and it's boring. I was ready to give in. I'll give it a couple of chapters more, seeing as they're short chapters anyway. Hopefully something interesting will happen.

It's been slow going. I wanted to read this before the rest of the series. It's an interesting premise, but just not a very interesting novella. I'm going to finish it, though.

Not my usual read (usually like fantasy, etc), but I figured I'd branch out. So far, not much of a mystery/ thriller, still in the introductory part, getting to know the characters & setting. It's a bit depressing; the characters are all divorced and their parents are dead. It doesn't seem like there's much hope for them. However, things can only get better, so I'll continue to read.

I like the story so far, but I am irritated that the author tried to use "Old English" & failed miserably. She was inconsistent in her use of "thee", "thou", "yea", etc. She didn't use "canst" correctly. Old & current English intertwined within the same conversation. It was painful to read through those passages. Still, I'm curious to see how the story turns out.

Wow, only page 7 & already I'm hooked. A declaration of war by mythological creatures because humans are destructive to the planet. They're taking it from us. Very intriguing. ..

Just finished the epilogue. Oh, my gosh!! Excitement, danger, & new characters. Yay!!

Little hard to follow at first. Each chapter has title & month/ year, has a few different view points. First, you at present time, then Marco & Celia from their time, which is before you, then it jumps forward about 16yrs following a teenager named Bailey. Didn't have any warning this would happen, but once I realize it, was easier to follow. Intriguing, can hardly wait to see how it all ties together.

I'm maybe on page 30. So far, I am intrigued. Maeve was burned when she was about 10 yrs old. It left her w/o the use of her hands. Early on, she made 2 lists: things she could do with her life & things she couldn't do. She couldn't find much use for herself, so I'm curious to find out what happens with her.

Rereading this first book now that I have all the others. Yay!!

So far, it's very exciting. It opens with a demon vanquishing, subsequent discovery of a murder, then a kidnapping and a rescue. Can't wait to see what the rest of the series is like.

So far, I have read the first story & am into the second story. I loved the first story and enjoying the second. Excited to read the rest.

So far, so good. The girl has just woken up. She has amnesia; doesn't know anything about her family or herself. There's a physical therapist; maybe a chance for romance there. Also a psychological therapist; seems to have animosity towards the girl. Intriguing. I'm curious to see how she handles her family.

It's an interesting enough read. Nothing really capturing me though I still want to know how it ends. Good storyline, but characters are one-dimensional. Maybe that's why I can't get into it fully.

It started to get into the mystery of the book about 25 pages ago; until then, it was really slow. The author spends too much time describing the actual surroundings of the characters. The book actually tells 2 stories. Starting to connect what happened to the modern-day characters with what occurred in their ancestors' time. Two good mysteries.

This book is awesome!! Right from the start, I was intrigued. The premise... an American family goes to Ireland on vacation. While there, a nuclear explosion occurs. The whole country is w/o electricity. The family is stuck in the middle of nowhere. What would you do if this happened to you? What is a mother to do when her child is threatened and her husband is held captive? Very exciting!!

Still a bit slow for my taste, but just when I think I'm about to give up, something recaptures my attention. feels kinda like stop & go traffic. will read to the end, but will prob never read the book again.

So far, I am intrigued. kinda on tge border of not wanting to read the book and wanting to know what happens to tge main character, Finn. hoping it gets really good soon.
